ABOUT TRISTA

Trista Edwards is a writer, editor, and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of the strange and the beautiful, often through the lens of the supernatural, mythic, and surreal. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas and has an M.A. and B.A. in English from the University of West Georgia.

Her debut poetry collection, Spectral Evidence, was published by April Gloaming Press in 2020. She is currently working on her first novel, which explores grief, motherhood, and the power of scent. An excerpt from the novel was featured in Alabastron: a Journal Exploring Scent’s Role in Society and Culture. She is also working on her second poetry collection, which is largely portrayed through the point of view of a taxidermied alligator doll.

In addition to her writing, Trista is an editor at Atmosphere Press, a collaborative hybrid publisher, where she helps authors refine their manuscripts and prepare their work for publication. She formerly owned the candle shop Marvel + Moon but has since pivoted to collaborate exclusively with White Stag Publishing to create custom candles with scent profiles that complement the themes and atmosphere of their books. This unique approach transforms reading into a multisensory experience.

When she's not writing, Trista creates intricate miniature worlds, including a Southern Gothic dollhouse and dioramas inspired by Shirley Jackson’s novels and the landscapes of her home in Hiram, Georgia. She lives in Georgia with her husband and two children.
